The Metro will be extended to Liverpool

Gladys Berejiklian has confirmed the Sydney Metro South West will be extended from Bankstown to Liverpool under the Coalition government.

The extension is one of four additional routes identified for the expansion of the Sydney Metro rail network.

The routes include the extension of the Metro West from Westmead to Western Sydney Airport and the North South Rail Line extension from St Marys to Rouse Hill via Schofields, as well as from Western Sydney Aerotropolis to Macarthur.

Work will start over the next four years on the early planning for these projects.

Western Sydney Business Chamber executive director David Borger said the fast-tracking of western Sydney metro railway lines would provide business with greater certainty and encourage further private sector investment in housing and employment in the region.
